Chalkboard Kids Room
Imagine being a kid and being able to draw on the walls whenever you wanted, without having to worry about getting into trouble.
No kid would turn this opportunity down. What fun it would be. And it can be with chalkboard walls. Chalkboard walls mean that your little artists can draw and paint away to glory, rub it off and start again. They can create a masterpiece and leave it to decorate their room.
There are lots of fun ways to create a chalkboard wall in a kids room. You can paint a whole wall with chalkboard paint like in the room pictured at the top or you can make or buy a chalkboard. If you don't have any free wall space, you can think about painting a wardrobe door or even the bedroom door in chalkboard paint.
We've found some fun ways to create a chalkboard in a kids room to inspire you:
Go big! Paint an entire wall in black chalkboard paint. Not only does the black wall look so dramatic but your kids will never run out of space to draw. And if you have more than one kid, hopefully there will be no fighting as there will be room for everybody's masterpiece.
If you want to get creative, why not paint some shapes on the wall like these triangles. They look so playful and you still get a huge chalkboard to draw on. Another idea is to paint large house shapes or a cityscape which looks really fun too.
Speaking of house shapes, if you don't feel like painting a wall, make or buy a large chalkboard in a fun shape. There are loads of interesting shapes out there but we especially like the simplicity of an over-sized house.
Can't spare a wall? Why not paint the wardrobe doors? If you've got old wardrobes that need a little love, the chalkboard paint will also make them look fresher and your kids will have a nice big space to draw on. The best part is, this can work even in the smallest room. And if not a wardrobe door, the door to the kids room will work equally well.
Lastly, if you want a quick and easy way to add a chalkboard wall to your kids room, get some large chalkboard stickers and stick them up. We are especially loving these mountains but there are tons of shapes out there to choose from. They are easily removable too so it's easy to change the look when you're ready.
What do you think? Do you think your kids would like a chalkboard wall?
